Avatar: The Last Airbender & Choir

Last night my good friends, Matt, Moroni, Von and Annajean, got together and watched the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender. I have started this TV series many times, but its the kind of show that is way more fun watching with someone than by yourself. I would watch the first 3 or so episodes but then no one would want to watch it with me so I would stop watching. After I stopped watching I would want to watch it again so I would start at the beginning again, and only watch the first few episodes.
So last night we watched the first 5 episodes and that's the furthest I have ever watched. Today was kind of a lazy day for me so I watched a few episodes and am actually watching an episode right now.
I like this show. It's an interesting idea of "bending" elements. And it's kind of addicting once you get into the story. The show is funny and meant for children. I like watching it.

Tonight, I got to go to Institute choir. We are getting ready to sing at the Temple Visitor center next month. We are singing the day after Pioneer day so we are singing this really fun song called "the Handcart Song". It's a fun bouncy dance like song. I just wish I could play the piano part. The director son, Jacob, is an AMAZING pianist and plays all the hard stuff. We are also singing a song from Wicked, "For Good". We are singing that one at the freshman orientation in August.

I really like singing, especially in a choir. I love the how the spirit fills the room when a choir starts to sing. When that many people are united in making beautiful music, its hard not to feel something special. Its kind of ridiculous but I cry in choir a lot. It's a little cheesy I know but, I get goosebumps and feel all tingly inside. I love that I sing alto. Sopranos are nice, I guess, but when you get to harmonize with someone it's so beautiful.
It's kinda funny actually, when ever I'm singing with the radio or anyone else I always make up my own harmony part because I can't just sing the melody. Music is a wonderful escape from the world. Many people have asked why I don't go into music as a career or for schooling. But for me, music is the one thing I can do with out having it to be perfect. I love that when I play, sing, or listen to music, I can forget everything on my mind and just engulf myself in feeling the music.

Well, that's whats been on my mind recently. Not to exciting, but that's what I've been thinking about. I've been liking this blogging thing. It's kind of relaxing. I can just put my feelings on paper (well kinda) and then I don't have to worry about them anymore. :)

Later,
